PULL CORD SWITCHES

Emergency stop switches stop the conveyor electrically at any point along the conveyor.

  • Heavy duty pulling mechanism compensates for temperature drifts, preventing false trips.
  • Electrical rotary switch allows the switch to be tripped manually. The electrical switch is a self-wiping rotary switch (not a microswitch), and consists of two normally open and two normally closed contacts.
  • Switch knob is padlockable in the "Off" position. Once the switch has been tripped, the knob latches in the "Off" position and must be manually reset in order to restart the conveyor.
  • High impact U.V. stabilized polycarbonate enclosure is rated IP 66 and D.I.P. (Dust Ignition Proof) degree of protection.
  • Recommended distance between switches is 330 feet (100.6 m).
  • Approved for use in non-hazardous locations by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Resources Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

BELT PROTECTION

MISALIGNMENT DETECTORS

Troughing belt misalignment is detected by two upright arms (1), which are connected to an electrical switch by a glass reinforced polycarbate coupling.

If the belt misaligns on either side to the extent that it could cause damage to the belt or conveyor structure, it contacts one of the upright arms. The arm tilts in the direction of the moving belt and activates the switch.

  • Adjustable mechanical trip delay on the rotary switch (2) coupling mechanism prevents false trips.

  • Switch structure is designed to minimize material build-up which could render the switch inoperable.

  • Belt protection units can be combined to meet your specific needs.

RIP AND TEAR DETECTORS

Two profiled arms detect rips and tears that could potentially damage the belt or structure. Provides an adjustable mechanical delay to prevent false trips.

METAL DETECTORS

 

Single, field replaceable microproccessor-based controls are simple to service & maintain with interchangable boards.

Can be tuned to ignore conductive or magnetic ores, such as magnetite and pyrite, even when carried by high-tension, steel cord belts.

Available in any belt width.

Can be field adjusted to fit most standard conveyor configurations.

Model EMT 50 also available as a flat-pack, under-belt style detector.

Sensitivity of 5% of aperture height detects minute tramp metals while ignoring splices and rip detection loops.

Belt Cleaner - Saber Primary

Removes carryback at the head pulley, the most efficient point.

Material carried back by your conveyor causes safety hazards, accelerates the wear on all your conveyor components, and is expensive to clean up. The patented Saber Blade and Twister Tensioner will make carryback the least of your worries.

Can be used at any point on the return belt, and is effective even in extremely sticky material loading applications.

 
When you cannot fit primary cleaners on your head pulley, look to the Saber Secondary cleaner. The Saber Secondary can be mounted at any location along the return belt line, and is mounted on cantilever arms so installation is a breeze. A non-curved blade is also available.

Gordon V-Plow and Angle Plow Conveyor Belt Cleaners

Protects the tail pulley by keeping spillage away and cleaning the return side of the belt like no other plow available.

Material that falls on the return side of the belt will eventually go through the tail pulley. This material can punch holes in your belt, wear pulley lagging, and let the pulley slip causing the underside of the belt to wear. Also, uneven material buildup on the tail pulley will cause belt alignment problems.

Flexiskirt Conveyor Sealing System

Flexible skirt seal conforms to the ever-changing belt surface, creating a snug seal that eliminates spillage.

Conventional skirt seals allow material to escape through the gaps caused by belt sag. The Flexiskirt takes the conveyor's dynamics into account, adapting to seal widening or narrowing gaps. The weight of the conveyed material helps create a snug seal that eliminates spillage.

At-Last-A-Seal Conveyor Sealing System

Prevents spillage in load areas by creating a "live seal" using the pressure of the material's own weight.

 Spillage in load areas is a major problem in most facilities. The At-Last-A-Seal solves the problem by providing a "live seal" between the belt and the structure. The seal moves freely on the chute wall, letting itself adjust and needing little or no maintenance.

When the belt is loaded, material presses down on the inside slope of the At-Last-A-Seal, and this pressure creates the seal. As the belt load decreases and eventually empties, the pressure decreases so as not to wear the seal prematurely.

 

 

   
     
   
   

Simplicity Impact System

Provides maximum support for the entire loading area to prevent belt damage and minimize spillage.

The force of large material being dropped from several feet can cause severe damage to a conveyor belt. Conventional impact idlers may support the belt across the width of the belt, but not along the length of the load zone.

Bent idler stands and roll failure are common problems if the belt is not supported in the load area. Also, material impacting between the idlers will cause the belt to flex downward, allowing material to leak under your skirt seal. The results of ignoring this condition are shortened idler life, increased cleanup cost, belt damage, and safety hazards. Simplicity Slider System

Supports the sealing area, prevents belt sag, and provides a flat, low friction surface for the conveyor belt to travel on.

Sealing load points can be troublesome and sometimes very difficult. The natural sag of your conveyor belt between the idlers can make it almost impossible to get your skirt seal to work. Increasing the pressure on your skirting can cause it to wear your belt's top cover and excessivly wear the skirting material over the idler rolls.

Conveyor Belt Alignment: Tri-Return Training Idler

Self-adjusting 3-idler design centers conveyor belt automatically, preventing belt damage and spillage due to misalignment.

 Misaligned conveyor belts can wear the edge of your belting and damage your conveyor structure. Misalignment is also a major cause of material spillage, which decreases the life of your idlers, increases overhead due to cleanup cost, and is a serious safety issue.

The Tri-Return Training Idler uses a patented concave arrangement of three idler rolls on a center pivot to keep your belt in line. The center roll is horizontal and the two outer rolls are mounted at a descending angle. This roll arrangement allows the trainer to fit the full cup of the belt.

The Tri-Return's idler rolls are mounted on a steel frame with a central pivot point and guidlers on either side, enabling the Tri-Return to conform to the natural cup of the belt -- contacting the entire width of the belt.

 

 

 
   
   
   

Wyatt Alignment Disks

An easy and inexpensive way to contain lightweight conveyor belts.

Lightweight belts can be difficult to keep contained. Wind gusts and off-centered surge-loading are two examples of the problems that can cause temporary belt misalignment. Wyatt Alignment Disks are an inexpensive solution and are easy to install.
